Logistiek Planner Import

  • On-site
    • Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands
  • Supply Chain

Job description

32-40 uur

Are you the Logistic Planner Import that is bringing millions of products from one side of the world to the other with care and you get to take care of it. Do you enjoy working in a dynamic work environment and are arranging, planning and keeping an overview among your talents? Then we are looking for you!

As our logistics colleague, you are partly responsible for the inbound of +- 2000 containers per year. You organize and coordinate the shipments that are largely transported from China to the Netherlands. And that makes you an important link in the entire process.

You know which order is in which container on which ship, because you book the transport. Is there a delay? Because you keep an overview, you are the first to notice this and start anticipating it. You inform the parties involved and make adjustments where possible. In order to transport sustainably and leave no freight space unused, you book freight efficiently by combining different orders. And in terms of costs, you like to think along by conducting market research on rates of shipping companies in order to arrive at sound considerations.

You are never alone with us, because as the Logistic Planner Import you join forces with your closest colleagues in the supply chain department and support each other where necessary. You help colleagues in the outbound department when the work peak is higher there. The great thing about this is that you continue to grow in knowledge and skills in the supply chain. In addition, you work together with the purchasing and sales departments to achieve the best result; Thorough planning and smooth transport. And so, thanks in part to your efforts, our products are in the many stores of the major retailers as planned.

Your tasks:

  • Booking (sea/rail/air) freights and maintaining contact with shipping companies / suppliers.

  • Administering data of bookings in the ERP system.

  • Accurate tracking of transports and request booking information.

  • Booking loads efficiently, e.g. by checking whether orders can be combined in containers.

  • Keeping involved colleagues informed to ensure that the process continues to run smoothly.

  • Compare prices of shipping companies and ensure the right choice of carriers by means of negotiation and making agreements about rates.

  • Check sales orders and pass them on to the external warehouses.

  • Organize road transport.
